"What, like bait?" Rosie asks, her mouth going a little dry at the idea. "That could work, but who would we..."

She allows herself one single and deeply vengeful thought about suggesting David, then sets it aside.

"So we tempt him with somebody, and then, what, redirect him at the last minute?" She thinks for a long few minutes, her brow furrowed. "Back into the device, before he can take over anyone else?"

"Yeah, sure," Sam said, doing nothing to hide his worry as he made his way over to the couch, lowering himself down onto it and propping his crutches within reach.

"What's, uh. What's going on?"

He didn't blame her for not giving him any details over text, but all the evasiveness was making him worry. Honestly, he had a feeling that he wasn't quite worried enough.

"If it were strong enough, maybe. The-- this lance, I'm pretty sure it's a holy relic of some kind. I would feel more confident if I understood more about what I am," she says, carefully, as if she expects to cut herself on her words at any moment. "A witch cannot go onto hallowed ground, but is that because they're contracted to him? Lilith was a witch before she met him, and magic can exist without his influence."

She rubs her hands nervously. "I was able to enter the church and fight the angels because I was half-mortal and baptized. But I'm not half-witch, I'm half... whatever he really is."

Sabrina lets out a slow breath, fighting to keep her feelings in check, and mostly succeeding. "I can touch a cross, but I don't know about things like holy water."

"It would have to be myself, or someone who's more powerful than Nick. Me because the devil is the biggest narcissist ever, and he considers me as part of him, or someone that could provide a bigger tactical advantage."

She lets herself flop back on the bed.

"...I don't think he'd go for it. Nick is already very skilled and it's a choice that hurts me. I don't know that he'd believe I'm ready to just give up and join him, either."

"Lucifer is in Darrow," Sabrina says, dropping onto the other end of the couch as if she doesn't quite feel it yet. "Specifically, he's possessing my boyfriend Nick, and it's only a matter of time before things get a lot worse. Especially once he knows that I know."

She sets her hands down in her lap, curled into loose fists.

"I need to save Nick, and I-- I don't know how yet. I don't know how we get rid of Lucifer without sending anyone to Hell. I don't think we can reach Hell."

"Well, it's absolutely not going to be you," Rosie says almost as soon as the words have left Sabrina's lips; a stubborn, hardheaded sort of reaction, but the truth. "I won't allow it." In her heart, she knows she couldn't stop it, no matter how hard she tried or wished or insisted. But she says it, and she means it, and once it's voiced she nods once, firmly, looking down at Sabrina's prone figure.

"If we can't distract him, or...or tempt him, whatever you want to call it," she muses, trying to think as fast as she can, knowing she's as far out of her depth now as she'd been her first few hours in Anterwold. More so, even. This, after all, was not a problem she could stomp and threaten her way out of as she'd done in the forest clearing. "If we can't do that...what did you need to kill him, last time? Even if we can't find it here, there has to be something similar. People arrive from all over, different worlds and times and...there has to be something."

"Christ," he says, softly, his fingers stroking gently along her arm. "Okay. Shit. Right." He closes his eyes, tries to centre himself. The last thing she needs right now is her freaking out. "So what do we do next?"

Because there's got to be something they can do, right? This can't be it.

"In no world would God think you're evil, duck," he says softly, reaching out to touch Sabrina's arm. "You have to remember, whatever else he does, whatever choices he makes, Lucifer is an angel. What makes him evil are the ways in which he decides to behave. How he treats people. Those aren't the choices you're making and I suspect... well, learning about yourself is all well and good and I would encourage it, but I don't believe it will relate directly to him."

They're not their parents, after all. Neither of them are.

"I'll bring what I can to this fight," he promises. "Everything I can. We'll figure it out, you and me and Sam. Kat, too, you know she'll help any way she can." She's become something of an expert after all this time, he knows.
