[the purge]
The work of weeks culminates tonight, and though Sabrina has spent most of those weeks crawling around buildings with chalk, making holes in the ground or in walls where she can stash some protective charms, and taking tiny catnaps of exhaustion, she regrets none of the work.
And the final touch, to be placed upon Leviathan tonight, has her buzzing in anticipation.
It's not all she's buzzing about.
Do not use the Purge as date night, warns some voice in her head that sounds like nearly every authority figure ever, and she's not! She really isn't.
But it's her birthday, and Jules is coming over, and they're going to wear costumes! Maybe they can rig up a projector and watch a movie, depending on how bad the Purge is outside. It's a whole night together, with plans to see if they can haul breakfast over to the bunker in the morning.
So if she's waiting, in costume, nose practically pressed up against the glass of the door, for Jules to get here, aware of the fading daylight and feeling a little excited, surely it doesn't make her a terrible person.
She hopes so, anyway.

She melts, not unlike her literary kin, draping herself over Jules and kissing her back with a note of urgency, of relief. "I didn't want any of it," she murmurs. "Not the titles, not the throne, certainly not the actual job. I ended up with it anyway, for a while." Pulling back just enough to meet Jules's eyes, she admits, "You're dating the former Queen of Hell. I can even take you to see my throne. It showed up here in the woods with my last set of memories."
For all that the confession tries to stick in her throat, she's so relieved to have it out of her-- and she finds she's not at all afraid Jules will pull away.
At least until the Purge alarm begins to blare outside.
"Shit."

She wants to tell Sabrina everything about her own past, all the baggage she's carried around with her. More than that, though, she really wants to keep kissing her girlfriend, which is what she starts to do, before the sound of the alarm intervenes.
"Fucking Purge," she says, sounding entirely put-out by the inconvenience. "Do you need to double check any... spells, or anything?"

Since she's already confessed to her Morningstar bloodline, she lets herself admit, voice brightening, "The sirens are badass. This is definitely a scene in a scary movie, and I'm enjoying it enough that I should really slow my roll but... end of the world makeouts are pretty hot."
Heading for the door, she's joined by Salem, who mrrs loudly as she grabs the giant sword at the door. Salem gets a nose boop, and then she opens the door, turning back to Jules. "It's just going to take a minute, but you can join me if you want."

So of course she wants to join her, fascinated to see what this final lockdown ward entails. Because this is all still somewhat new to her, she wants to take everything in, to understand Sabrina's world as she becomes part of it.
"And then we can get back to the end of the world makeouts. Since, yeah. Pretty hot."
