They cling to each other, helpless and miserable, though Rosie lets out a soft and slightly bitter laugh at Sabrina's first lamentation. It's so practical, and nonsensical--and yet, utterly true. It's just the two of them now, and the thought of that is as painful now as it was when she'd first realized.

"No one," she says, letting Sabrina tug her backwards, curling into the other girl's chest as Sabrina does the same to her, both of them a tangle on the blankets. Before, there might have been a charge to it, some kind of heat; not now. "Everyone. Maybe it's Darrow who should be apologizing to us."
